Afternoon Tea With Sarah Waters, Paul Torday Prize Judge 2020

Grab a cuppa and a join the Society of Authors @ Home Festival for a 45-minute online video session with Sarah Waters as she shares a mini tour of her creative workspace, insights into what she’s currently working on, and discussion of the Paul Torday Memorial Prize 2020.

Sarah Waters is an SoA Council Member and a judge for this year’s Paul Torday Memorial Prize, part of the SoA Awards. Read the shortlist announcement here

Programme:

2 minutes – Welcome from Nicola SolomonCEO, Society of Authors 

5-10 minutes – Introduction from Sarah Waters with a short tour of her workspace and glimpse into her creative routine 

10-20 minutes – Discussion of the Paul Torday Memorial Prize shortlistees and the judging process 

5 minutes – Advice for authors on staying creative and connected 

10-15 minutes – Q&A from audience

Sarah Waters  author, Paul Torday Memorial Prize judge, SoA Awards 2020 

Sarah Waters  has written six novels including Tipping the Velvet, The Night Watch and The Paying Guests. She has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize, Orange Prize and Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her novel Affinity was also awarded the SoA’s Somerset Maugham Award and the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award. She served on the Management Committee from 2009 to 2012.
